Police have claimed that they have arrested the suspected rapist and murderer of a nine-year-old girl who was found dead in a graveyard in Nowshera's Nawa Kalay area last week. Speaking at a news conference on Tuesday, DIG Mardan Ali Mohammad Khan Gandapur said that accused Yasir has confessed to have killed the girl after raping her.

The police official said that the accused was identified through DNA test. He said that the accused was a friend of the victim's father, who had also attended the funeral prayer of the victim. The DIG told the newsmen that the police officials would be rewarded for solving the case. He said that the accused was arrested from his home. He said that 20 suspects were interrogated.
